SealCrypt VDS is being used to protect the integrity of the new Irish passport card
Increasingly countries globally including Ireland are turning to VDS (Visible Digital Seal) to protect their citizen's safety. VDS helps reinforce the security of information documents from vaccine passes to national IDs and passports.
The technology can be implemented for mobile applications or integrated into paper-based printable documents. Ireland's newest passport card based on SealCrypt VDS capitalizes on. the innovation's ability to protect and cement the data integrity of the documents people use to verify their identity and status as they access spaces and travel from place to place.
SealCrpyt VDS technology is the underlying framework of our own SecuSeal Digital ID Access and Health Pass. "It is a high-capacity digital container code that provides secure memory and storage for offline operation without the need for access to a database":
It is used for applications that require a very high level of security and integrity control such as visual and other biometric recognition.
The information is stored in a code versus in the cloud, which makes it more secure. It can be integrated into security and identity verification applications, with or without biometrics such as identity cards, driving licenses, voter cards, resident cards, vehicle registration cards self-associated with license plates, etc.
Ireland's passport card was updated in October 2021 to use a SealCrypt VDS. This replaces the old silver reflective (OSM) strip at the rear of the card.
